Hi,
I want to know what all kinds of compressions are supported in tiff files and
among them how many does libtiff supports?

Also, to support a specific compression scheme, are there any patches required
to be installed with libtiff? Also if there are any licensing issues with those
patches?

I have known from somewhere that for lzw compressed tiff images, a patch has to
be installed for which you need to buy a license.

My second query is that apart from 8, 16, 32 and so on, bits per sample tiff
images, are there any other bits per sample tiff images possible? Lets say 2,
4, 9 or 17 or any other bits per sample tiff images.

If it is, then does libtiff supports those bits per sample images?

Thanks,
Mayank
