I'm interested in a BigTIFF supporting stable release of LibTIFF. Does one exist? If not when is one planned? Here is a summary of what I've been able to find by searching the web: There is a v4.0.0alpha development release available from ftp://ftp.remotesensing.org/pub/libtiff/ but not its mirror at http://dl.maptools.org/dl/libtiff/ The page at http://www.remotesensing.org/libtiff/v4.0.0.html describes a full 4.0.0 release that I can't find. The home page at http://www.remotesensing.org/libtiff/ links to a press release http://www.remotesensing.org/libtiff/bigtiffpr.html which says: > Testing and final release improvements for LibTiff 4.0 will be completed by July 30, 2007. There is also a download purporting to be libtiff 4.0.2 available from http://www.aperio.com/bigtiff/ but this is explicitly noted as not official.
