I would have to say it's a substantially different form, and you're completely
correct in making this remark.

Since it wasn't obvious enough, it needs to be stressed: Bob's first post in
this thread, http://www.asmail.be/msg0054916232.html, is the single one that is
on-topic and really addresses the issue. Anyone interesting in mixing standard
hyperlink functionality with TIFF, should take that post to be definitive.

Rob's and my talk is only interesting to anyone wanting to add a non-standard
hyperlink functionality to TIFF, by allocating a private tag code with adobe and
storing the sorts of proprietary data we discussed in it. Perhaps this is useful
if one needs such a mix in a proprietary application, rather then a standard web
browser. What Rob and I discussed is also interesting from the point of view of
the TIFF file format, how to use private tags and such, how to store dynamic
list data in a tag, scope of tags, and so on. Mostly, Rob and I were just having
off-topic fun with data's.
