I have attached patches to tiff2ps to support images with 16 bit samples instead of exiting with the error "Can not handle 16-bit/sample image". I tested it on Fedora Core 3 Linux on a Pentium M and on Solaris 8 on a sun4m with gcc-3.4.6 using 16 bit images from http://www.imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7807 and from http://www.asmail.be/msg0055059914.html with both level 1 and level 2 eps (-e and -2e). I also made a small change that if a file supplies a resolution of 72 but no units, tiff2ps takes the units as inches instead of scaling them by 72 again.
