PostScript supports the same Group 4 compression often used in TIFF document imaging. Remove the TIFF wrapper, sprinkle on a little PostScript, and you get fast TIFF printing. How fast, depends on the speed of your PostScript interpreter. Using the Oce 3165 and the Xerox Document Centre 230, I can get the rated speed.
