Subject: performance with new version on P5

I just want to report that the new version, which I compiled under linux (P5 at
90MHz) with 2.5.8 Pentium gcc ( -mpentium -O4 ) makes reading my G4 compressed
binary tiffs a bit faster (about 3% I think) which is nice.
(results compared with previous version, compiled identically)
You don't indicate which "new version" you tested with, but I would have
expected more of a speedup. Of course it all depends on the data being
decoded.
