I would hope not. This is the program that says "An internal error has occurred" when trying to open any TIFF file with an alpha channel.

Are we talking about the infamous "Wang Imaging" program distributed with Windoze 9x? If so, it has a pretty creative interpretation of the TIFF 6.0 JPEG chapter. I'd not be surprised to find that they couldn't get other parts of TIFF right either.
