I have found that when I use the tiffclose function and I then try to open the closed file in another application it is still being held by the program which closed it. If I exit from the program I can then open the file in another program. This only seems to occur in XP. We have tried it on 2000 and win98 machines without a problem. Is there a way to get around this issue that anyone is aware of.

Though I haven't seen this on XP, I have seen a similar problem on ME when using mapped files. Opening the files unmapped fixed it there.
