I've posted all the stuff about my compatiblity problem between LibTiff

I didn't try PaintShopPro but had a look into the tiffdemo.tif. It is formally ok - i.e. it conforms to the TIFF V6 spec, but I found the colormap has unusual values: they all are of the form xx00 in hex, where xx is from 00 hex to ff hex. both Photoshop and Acrobat (exchange 3.0x) can open this image and display it correctly; saving the image from Photoshop results in colormap values of the form xxyy hex where xx and yy are both the same bytes.
