David, It is difficult to tell if a newer release would fix the problem without having access to the data that causes trouble. You could also test with the ftp://ftp.remotesensing.org/pub/libtiff/tiff-3.9.0beta.zip or ftp://ftp.remotesensing.org/pub/libtiff/tiff-4.0.0beta2.zip versions to see if they fix the problem. If not, you can report the issue and the way to reproduce it in http://bugzilla.maptools.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=libtiff Best regards, Even
