Why? You should not! Every reader that claims to understand TIFF
has to handle a TIFF directory in whatever place. So there is
absolutely no reason to insist on a specific location for
the directory.

(Assumed you manage to write the directory at offset 8, what
advantage would taht have for you? You can not base a reader
on the assumption of a directory at offset 8)
