I noticed that the output is now “tiffd.lib” / “tiffd.dll” instead of “libtiff.lib” / “libtiff.dll” with the unmaintained Makefile.vc build system. However, up to now I didn’t realize that this build system was not maintained any more.

Seldom maintained or broken is not the same as "not maintained any more".:-)

Sorry that I missed the right wording. A native English speaker told me once about non-native speakers like me

that he always has to consider whether they mean what they say.:-)

Nevertheless, when dropping the Makefile.vc build system a description for migration would be useful explaining the differences and giving a basic description how to install and use CMake for users with Windows / Visual Studio background.

Yes,after a while I found it.

Pleasefeel free to submit a patch to the documentation with improvements you feel areneeded. Libtiff is developed by volunteers.

My intention is to contribute a little to Libtiff. As leisure programmer, which uses a slightly

modified / upgraded Libiff for a private little tool, I submitted already some hopefully useful enhancements.I already thought about contributing to Libtiff documentation but rejected this idea because of the point above. Someone would have to understand and reformulate the point. Anyway, I'll think about it.
