How about freezing the C code in some libtiff version and develop the new things in libtiff++ only?
I don't think this is appropriate -- the C community is too large and certainly wants improvements as they come. libtiff has been growing and improving over the years and shows no signs of stopping :-)
Or maybe someone would be interested in trying to sync libtiff++ and libtiff.
Maybe. But I won't hold my breath :-)
